Juneau: Part II

At the top of Mt. Roberts is a nature trail as well as an eagle sanctuary.  The eagle is Lady Baltimore.  She was rescued from nearby Douglas Island 10 years ago after she was shot through her beak. The shot also injured her wing bones and she can't fly.....she still thinks she can fly, though, so she is kept in a small enclosure.  She is enjoying a salmon head for breakfast.

The weather is a cool kid 50s and our jackets felt good.  We were early on the trails and it was so peaceful and quiet.  The naturalist told us last week, it was cold and a 30 MPH wind.  So glad we had better weather than that.

  1. Looks like good hair day.
Wouldn't want to be in that tram in a 30 mph wind!
